Synopsis
A Different Christmas

Two people. Two upbringings. One Christmas.

Sam was brought up to her happy family gathering at Christmas. Filled with many traditions that as an adult she thought were normal for everyone.

Getting ready to finish work for the holidays to go home to her family in Scotland, was her idea of fun and relaxation. Well, that was until her boss, Luke, told her he was dragging her to New York for work.

Much to Sam’s irritation, she has to go along and attend New York before flying home on Christmas Eve.

Luke grew up with parents that had a multimillionaire company and wanted for nothing. Apart from a family to celebrate Christmas with.

Luke grew up thinking he had what everyone had at Christmas, until he grew up and realized that Christmas is a family occasion.

Two characters that clash at the slightest thing is a recipe for disaster. Throw Sam and Luke into New York and it is either a make or break for their working relationship.

Would Christmas be different after this year?

Preview of - The Renegade Wife by Caroline Warfield

Now available on preorder!

The Renegade Wife (Children of Empire Book 1) by Caroline Warfield

Blurb for the book:
Betrayed by his cousin and the woman he loved, Rand Wheatly fled England, his dreams of a loving family shattered. He clings to his solitude in an isolated cabin in Upper Canada. Returning from a business trip to find a widow and two children squatting in his house, he flies into a rage. He wants her gone, but her children are sick and injured, and his heart is not as hard as he likes to pretend.

Meggy Blair harbors a secret, and she’ll do whatever it takes to keep her children safe. She’d hopes to hide with her Ojibwa grandmother, if she can find the woman and her people. She doesn't expect to find shelter with a quiet, solitary man, a man who lowers his defensive walls enough to let Meggy and her children in.

Their idyllic interlude is shattered when Meggy’s brutal husband appears to claim his children. She isn’t a widow, but a wife, a woman who betrayed the man she was supposed to love, just as Rand’s sweetheart betrayed him. He soon discovers why Meggy is on the run, but time is running out. To save them all, Rand must return and face his demons.

More about the book:
Randolph Baldwin Wheatly grew up on a small farm on the edge of his grandfather's estate. He loved the land, the animals, and rural life. Family estrangement at play, he was ten before he realized his grandfather was the Duke of Murnane. Even then he was more interested to discover that the then current duke, his cousin Charles, was exactly his age. (Events that occur in my novella, A Dangerous Nativity) When his sister marries an earl, he's thrust into society, but never really likes it. The boys become fast friends and remain close through horrific experiences in public school. During their university years they carouse and carry on as young men do along with Rand's brother Fred, a junior officer. All three court the same woman with disastrous results. When she chooses Charles's title over Rand's likely inheritance of the farm, they become estranged. When Rand realizes she was a few months pregnant before the marriage (and he knows he respected her too much to have tried...) the breach becomes final. He flees to Upper Canada to avoid the two of them, hide his humiliation, and forget the nightmares of school. He would make his fortune in timber. He chooses solitude to soothe his soul and defends it fiercely. Any wonder he becomes enraged when he returns home to find a woman has invaded his house while he was gone? His heart isn't as hard as he likes to pretend. When her vile husband hauls her and the children to England, Rand has to return and face his demons—and his cousin.
